Landed Cost Receiving is approved and listed on the Shopify App Store as of June 16. It exists because your true product cost is not the supplier invoice. It's the invoice plus freight, duty, brokerage and fees, and when those extras never reach Shopify's cost per item, every margin report runs on numbers that are too low.

The gap

Shopify keeps one cost per item, and it's a single static figure. Nothing in the admin allocates a $1,180 freight bill across the 240 units it shipped with, and nothing keeps a history of what the cost was before. Stocky, which handled average cost at receiving for a lot of stores, was delisted from the App Store on February 2, 2026 and is no longer available as of August 31, 2026 (Shopify Help Center). This app covers receiving, landed costs and accurate COGS.

How it works

Transfer shipments you receive through Shopify's native flow appear in the app on their own; a past transfer can be imported and allocated the same way. Enter the invoice extras, choose to allocate by value, quantity or weight, and preview every new unit cost before you commit. Apply, and the app sets each variant's cost per item to the new weighted average — current cost times prior on-hand, plus the landed total, over the combined units.

Every write lands in a cost-history ledger, the trail Shopify's single cost figure doesn't keep. Revert any application with one click, or export the ledger as CSV for accounting.

Honest limits

Purchase orders aren't exposed by Shopify's public API and shipments carry no cost fields, so the app can't read extras off a PO. You enter them in-app, and a merchant who also fills the native PO cost summary will enter them twice; the app's entry is the one that writes cost. It makes no checkout changes and reads no customer data: products, inventory and received shipments, nothing else.

Pricing

$29/month or $290/year, with a 7-day trial.
